The circus is coming to Mississippi Avenue, is your bicycle ready? Cirque du Cycling on June 13 is a street festival presented by Laughing Planet and supported by Mississippi Avenue businesses to benefit Self Enhancement Inc.(SEI), a non-profit organization that enriches the lives of low-income youth.

The event kicks off at 1:30 with a free Family Ride - a safe, escorted three-mile bike adventure from SEI to Peninsula Park and back. Advance registration is recommended as the ride is limited to 200 participants. At 3:00 a parade will process up and down Mississippi Avenue, featuring Portland's most creative bike groups and clubs showcasing their amazing art bikes. You'll see extra tall bikes, bikes that swing side to side, decorated bikes and contraptions so wild they look like they shouldn't even roll. Grab a good spot on the sidelines and get ready to gawk. And at 5:00, the street really heats up with an amateur and professional bike race along Mississippi featuring a two-way criterium-style race course. It's going to be fast and furious racing action!
