VOLUNTEER!

Over 120 volunteers make Cirque du Cycling a success. Come spend the day on Mississippi Ave and show your support by spending a couple hours with us. There are many available positions that are great for all interests, skills and abilities

VOLUNTEER PERKS

Volunteering for Cirque du Cycling is a lot of fun. You can be a huge part of your favorite part - the Kid's Ride, the Bike Parade or the Criterium Race. As an added bonus, all volunteers will receive:
  • A free Cirque du Cycling T-shirt
  • Food and drink
  • A couple positions give you free pass to the Night Ride

POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

FLYERING PARTY
WHAT YOU GET:
A free pass to the Night Ride on July 10th plus a Cirque du Cycling t-shirt.  **For Flyering Party #2, you must work both days (Wed & Thurs) to get the free pass 

DETAILS:
Help flyer the neighborhood to inform them about Cirque du Cycling

PARKING HOOD SET UP
WHAT YOU GET: 
A free pass to the Night Ride on July 10th plus a Cirque du Cycling t-shirt.

DETAILS:
Help set up parking hoods along Mississippi Ave on Friday in order to clear the road for Saturday action

EARLY SETUP/TRUCK UNLOAD
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Help us out early and then enjoy the rest of the event. Help unload event supplies from the truck and start setting up the course

BARRICADE TRUCK TRANSPORT CREW
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Help us close all the streets to traffic to prepare Mississippi Ave for the festival. Must be able to lift and carry large items up to 50lbs. Bring work gloves and closed-toed shoes

COURSE TAPING TEAM
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
See the course magically come to life! Help the organizers set-up barricade tape along the course. Wear closed-toed shoes

PARADE ORGANIZERS
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Be a part of the coolest bike parade ever! Help check in bikes/floats, organize the parade order, and walk the parade to ensure an even flow of parade participants. You should be outgoing and enthusiastic about being a part of the parade.

GENERAL VOLUNTEERS
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Help pitch in with anything and everything! Whether it be setting up the event, handing out flyers, putting up signs, or sorting race prizes, there are always little projects to be done.

VIP PARTY ASSISTANCE
WHAT YOU GET:
You get the good food and drink of the VIP Party.  Also a free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt.

DETAILS:
Help pitch in with anything and everything! Help set up, check people in, serve food and beverages, tear down, take out trash.

RACE COURSE MARSHALS
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
See the racers up close and ensure the safety of the racers and spectators on the course! Assist in safe course crossings when no racers are coming, give spectators and residents a heads up the racers are coming, and keep people off the race course.Should be very comfortable communicating with the public, is alert and can multitask. Wear comfortable shoes.

RACE GUIDE AMBASSADOR
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Keep the spectators in the loop! Walk to course and hand out race guides to people on the street. Should be friendly and out going.

GENERAL CLEANUP
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Be part of the clean up crew that helps make Cirque du Cycling disappear in the night like it never happened! Help the weary organizers clean up from this great event by bringing in barricades, cones, and course logistic equipment. It helps if you are able to lift boxes. Bring gloves and sturdy shoes. If available, please bring headlamp.

FAMILY RIDE AMBASSADORS
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Take a ride up to Peninsula Park before the race begins! Family Ride Ambassadors will help organize the start of the ride as well as ride the 3.1 mile course to ensure safety. You will also help set up the start. If you ride, you must wear a helmet.

FAMILY RIDE COURSE MARSHALS
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Keep the kids safe on during the family ride! You will be stationed at a specific location on course with a flag and a safety vest to help bikers cross the street. You can bike to and from your location. If you ride, you must wear a helmet.

FAMILY RIDE REST STOP
WHAT YOU GET:
A free Cirque du Cycling t-shirt, food and drinks

DETAILS:
Fuel up the kids as they take a break from their ride! You will help stock snacks and water and take care of trash. If you ride, you must wear a helmet.
